Milestone, Debt, Endgame

I hit a milestone. I paid off a credit card balance this morning after making a promise to myself a few months back to get out of credit card debt, then eventually debt in general (43 years old and still have over $20k in student loan debt for a state university degree.)

I feel nothing—no sense of accomplishment, just a realization I no longer owe Discover any outstanding balance. I am moving on to Chase, where a great number of random Amazon orders both needed and not still need to be reconciled.

Perhaps when this one is paid, I will feel more. When all debt is paid, then what? Do I then save for all the home improvements and experiences I have only fantasized about? Then what?

There is no endgame—be it that I have yet to discover or it simply does not exist.
