What Matters?

Nothing matters.

Well, that is not necessarily true. Perhaps very little matters on the grand scale. It is figuring out what to spend your precious energy and time on that does.

Ego gets us so caught up in trivial matters. The need to feel “right” or the need to feel “valued” more than something else is nothing more than a thought pattern created distracting us from things much more important.

What those things are? I don’t know at this stage.

I try to figure it out by remembering I am a spiritual being having a human experience. My human experience is meant to be greater than frustration that I was cut off by a stranger while driving to the store or that my daughter would rather focus on coloring than cleaning up her toys like she was asked multiple times.

Or maybe my human experience is learning how to deal with and accept these petty frustrations?
